MESSAGE - QMP-LS & IQMH
On behalf of the Quality Management Program-
Laboratory Services (QMP-LS) and the Institute for
Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH), welcome
to Toronto, Canada for the QMP-LS /IQMH Pre-
meeting Workshop followed by the ISLH 2013. It is
a pleasure to take part in the ISLH 2013, the XXVIth
International Symposium on Technological Innovations
in Laboratory Hematology’s program in conjunction
with the North American Specialized Coagulation
Laboratory Association (NASCOLA).
QMP–LS is dedicated to improving the quality of
lab medicine through external quality assessment
(
EQA) and accreditation to the Ontario Laboratory
Accreditation (OLA) 15189Plus™ standard. It uses
the principles of quality management to ensure that
the lab results used to make diagnosis and prognosis
are reliable through accreditation services, EQA,
consensus practice recommendation development,
education and innovation. With over 30 years of
experience in designing quality assurance programs
for health care, QMP-LS has a long-standing tradition
of excellence in quality management.
QMP–LS is a department of the Ontario Medical
Association (OMA) and is a mandatory program for
licensed laboratories in Ontario that is funded by the
Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC). In
2010,
theEQAprogrammet the ISO17043accreditation
standard; one of the first organizations world-wide to
achieve this accreditation! Expertise is provided by
scientific committees comprised of physicians, PhDs
and technologists who are leaders in their fields and
who help-along with our dedicated staff-create and run
the EQA programs and produce hundreds of survey
reports, committee comments, reviews, consensus
practice recommendations, posters, webinars, and
presentations.
QMP–LS in conjunction with the Institute for
Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH) provide
accreditation and external quality assessment
programs, education and resource material. Please
