I wish to thank those responsible for the success of
ISLH 2013. Cathy Hayward, the ISLH 2013 Executive
Director; our two Program Co-Chairs, Elizabeth Van
Cott and Marciano Reis who have organized an
excellent scientific program; and Linda Sandhaus,
Chris Gardiner, and John Frater, our abstract Co-
Chairs, and their committee members, for reviewing
abstract submissions, organizing two outstanding
poster sessions, and selecting abstracts for awards
and oral presentations; and Tracy George and Michael
Keeney, invited co-editors of the IJLH issue containing
meeting reviews.
I also wish to congratulate our young investigator and
Berend Houwen Travel abstract awardees.
Finally, don’t miss our ISLH 2013 social activities,
beginning with an exhibit reception on Friday evening
followed by a Saturday evening banquet (a ticketed
event with limited capacity) at the Royal Ontario
Museum.
Located on the northern shore of Lake Ontario, Toronto
is beautiful and exciting international city. I hope you
will all have an opportunity to explore and enjoy some
of the pleasures this Canadian city and the Province of
Ontario have to offer.
Next year, ISLH 2014 will travel to the Hague in the
Netherlands on May 15-17th, for a combined meeting
with the ECAT Foundation. We look forward to seeing
you in the Netherlands.
