ICSH was originally founded as a standardizing
committee associated with the European/African division
of ISH (International Society of Haematology) in 1963.
The structure of the council was ratified in 1964 and
was registered as an independent foundation in the
Netherlands in 1968. In 1990, the committee was
registered as a Council.
The aim of ICSH is to achieve reliable and reproducible
results in haematology laboratory analysis. All
guidelines are freely available.
